New $5,000 Environmental Prize. Help new grantmaker design a discipline-wide typology of the environmental sector to guide future prizes.
Who and how many people will benefit from its ultimate solution?
Grantmaker new to urban environmental causes wants to understand the scope of general interventional opportunities in cities and towns in the United States.
Target population located :
Most communities in the US face several environmental challenges from air to water and lead or other pollutants. Grantmaker wants to design a guiding typology to segmentize and categorize funding opportunities.
Special or noteworthy characteristics of the target population :
Grantmaking will be focused on urban communities in the United States.
Description :
Grantmaker new to environmental challenges in urban settings in the United States seeking help in understanding the full range of typical grantmaking opportunities to establish a typology or categorization system for future grantmaking. Successful responses will provide a full topical range of typical urban challenges and include potential remediation practice summaries within each category to guide establishing structure. Best response will include comprehensive lists and links to known centers for various interventions and remediation modelling.
Describe the difference in the target population if a solution is adopted and implemented:
An acceptable design will provide a robust framework within which this grantmaker can understand and categorize a wide range of urban environmental challenges and leading remediation and protection practices with notable thought leaders and practitioners linked or identified. Grantmaking activities will be guided by the resulting structure at first with dynamic modifications to match experience.
Measure of Success :
Urban environmental challenges confronted by cities and towns in the US will be understandable and can be largely categorized within the accepted model.
