Philoptima

Prize Maker

Philoptima helps grant makers, funders, donors, philanthropists, and foundations (collectively termed as Prize Makers) to access the latest applied research and interventional best-methods as they work to solve community challenges in education, health, public safety, foundation management, governmental oversight, and the environment. We use this mass collaboration to confront community challenges exclusively. Our Open Innovation Philanthropy system of " problem > prize > solution " incentives uses a secure online platform to get help designing well-researched solutions for Prize-Makers. To accomplish this, Philoptima connects Prize-Makers to researchers, consultants, and experts in over 300 categories. Prize-Makers can also use a second, optional, phase to seek nonprofit organizations interested in implementing well-designed solutions to community challenges created in the first phase.

Researchers, consultants, and experts can apply to join the Philoptima Faculty and, if accepted, they may compete for "Design Prizes" by proposing solutions to community challenges posted by Prize-Makers. In a second phase, Nonprofits can compete for "Implementation Prizes" by submitting plans to carry out previously designed solutions in their communities.

Prizes attract researchers. The larger the prize funding, the more attention it gets.

To summarize, you describe your community challenge, set the deadline for responses, set the amount of the prize and deposit your prize with us and we post your challenge on the Philoptima website. If you don't like any of our solutions, you pay us nothing. .
